Modified Structures was a solo exhibition held at the Voyuer Gallery in Eugene, OR and marked the beginning of a new phase of my image making. The show was largely comprised of analytic abstractions featuring saturated colors, graphic shapes, collage, and architectectonic objects breaking down under the weight of the ideology that constructed them.
Some drawings feature deflated vigilante silouhettes wrestling with origami, or ghostly human forms emerging out of rigid lattice work. My artist statement hasn’t changed all that much since 2011. I’m still finding new ways of approaching similar subject matter.
