Arial v Helvetica

For all my non-designer friends who don't know or care about the differences in typefaces. If one were to articulate why Arial is not very good all I can say briefly is that it "complicates" things in an unnecessary way. Arial tries to hide it's modernist roots in a sloppy manner, bending when it can be straight, squishing when it can be perfectly round and in general, lacking logical cohesion. Well illustrated by Raynor.
